A shocking discovery in Springfield's food scene!
Imagine walking into a restaurant, ready for a delicious meal, only to find a live roach scurrying near the fryer. This was the reality for inspectors at Misaki, a restaurant located at 1635 N. Glenstone Ave. in Springfield.
The recent health inspection report, dated November 10th, revealed a disturbing scene. Aside from the live roach by the fryer, inspectors also found mouse droppings and deceased roaches underneath a prep table. But here's where it gets controversial...
Misaki wasn't just cited for this gross violation. They also had two other priority violations, which they corrected on the spot. These included storing potentially hazardous food items without proper date marking and keeping food past its discard date.
And this is the part most people miss: the non-priority violation. It's easy to overlook, but the presence of mouse feces and dead roaches is a serious health concern.
The restaurant took immediate action, draining the fryer of oil and sanitizing its equipment. But the question remains: is this enough to ensure a safe dining experience?
